My client is one of London?s leading independent estate agents with 50 offices across the capital and seven divisions: sales, lettings, financial services, new homes, estate management, survey and commercial.
The company is looking for a talented, professional and hands on PR Manager for a nine month maternity contract. This is a challenging, interesting and varied role.
The PR department was established in-house two years ago and has grown to be well-respected both internally and externally. Generating an average of 90 cuttings per month, the company?s profile is growing in the media with a 30 per cent year-on-year increase in editorial coverage.
The position starts at the beginning of November and there will be a hand over with the current PR Manager.

Objectives
Ensure the maximum amount of positive media coverage is obtained for the company and its clients
To manage the company?s corporate reputation in the media
To ensure that all business areas are provided with responsive and effective media relations
To develop and mentor the Press Officer
Publish the company?s quarterly internal magazine
Key responsibilities
Manage day-to-day press office activity, including co-ordinating responses to media enquiries
Meeting and developing relationships with target journalists
Develop and manage effective internal relations with departments and branches to encourage flow of information to the press office
Maintain a constant awareness of industry issues, the London property market and company activity to develop media comment
To be a trusted adviser to business areas on media relations activity
To independently drive the company?s growing media coverage
Deliver positive media exposure and reduce exposure to negative press which may have a damaging effect to the corporate reputation
Ensuring where interviews are given that the spokesperson is fully briefed, prepared and capable to deliver
Ensure all work issued is accurate and inline with the company values (and relevant legislation) and has ultimate sign off from the marketing director
Ensure paperwork and invoices are processed accurately and on time
To deal with a broad range of issues from local branch activities to board director profiling and campaigning on key issues
To provide advice to board directors and key managers on emerging issues in the media
To act, where necessary, as a spokesperson for the company
To be responsible for crisis and issues management
To be on call at weekends and after normal working hours
